The Experience!

I am a retired Civil Engineer who has been fortunate to work around the world and have experienced numerous cultures – food, people, music, architecture, religion etc. I am particularly gratified having worked on projects that impacted the lives of the most under-served in our world, i.e. water wells, road construction, emergency responses to disaster & pandemics etc. My most favorite city in the World to date is Adana, Turkey. The people are friendly, weather is great and food is spectacular. I love music of all sorts and my collection is quite varied; Jazz, R&B, Indian, Turkish, Afghan, Calipso, Soca, African, Middle Eastern…. the list goes on. My journey in retirement leads me to the Easter Hemisphere, where I will become a gentleman farmer- raising goats, planting vegetables, drinking cold beer and smoking a cigar or two. Not to forget, re-reading all books in my collection authored by Khalil Gibran and my personal collection of history books. Christian history is another interest along with economics that I must pursue in some form or fashion. I find GIS (Geographic Information System) to be a fascinating study and I suspect that will consume a lot of my time as I figure out how to leverage GIS for developmental purposes in underdeveloped countries.

Savoir faire

I have learned silence from the talkative, toleration from the intolerant, and kindness from the unkind; yet strange, I am ungrateful to those teachers” – Khalil Gibran
